The Indian Railways on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State Bank of India (SBI) to extend substantial insurance benefits to its employees and their families. Signed in the presence of Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the agreement ensures that employees maintaining salary accounts with SBI will now receive accidental death insurance coverage of Rs 1 crore. This marks a huge jump from the current coverage under the Central Government Employees Group Insurance Scheme (CGEGIS), which offered Rs 1.20 lakh for Group A, Rs 60,000 for Group B and Rs 30,000 for Group C employees. https://ift.tt/nMIgGCj
